Lead course

Through the course, you will become independent in handling commonly used equipment for lead climbing and after the course you will be able to lead climb and belay someone leading and understand the risks associated with this type of climbing.

Lead climbing involves the climber gradually anchoring the rope in intermediate belays higher and higher up the route being climbed. Unlike top rope climbing, the climber here risks taking several meters long falls.

You will also learn about techniques such as spotting and its importance before the first intermediate fuse is cut, as well as learning more about warming up and training to prevent overuse injuries.

Red card climbing is included in the course and at the last session you will find out if you have passed or not. Safety thinking permeates the entire course.
